  • What if I do not know the manufacturer?

In many cases, we can identify the source manufacturer based on the serial number. Pictures and/or drawings are always encouraged to help identify or verify unknown devices and sources.

  • What information do I need to provide to proceed with disposal?

After completing our Source Return Approval Request Document and authorization from QSA Global, Inc. for the source return, we will also need a current leak test on the source/device that is less than 6 months old. Upon receipt of these documents and verification of payment terms, we will issue an RMA number for acceptance, which will need to be marked on the package.

Any source with an activity greater than the designated Type A2 (Non-Special Form) values must ship as a Type A1 (Special Form) with a special form certificate.

  • What is disposition pricing based on?

In general, pricing is established based on isotope and activity. Higher activity sources are more expensive to dispose of, and certain isotopes are priced differently based on waste site restrictions. Labor for unloading the devices is included in the disposal price, except in occasional circumstances where a specific model device is more labor-intensive to unload.

  • Do you provide Type A containers for rental?

QSA Global, Inc. offers a container rental service that can be used for various sealed radioactive sources, including source capsules by themselves or sources loaded into devices.
