OpenVision Method Training Course .
Course Length: 16 hours
The OpenVision Method Training Course is an interactive educational program specifically designed to train NDT technicians how to safely perform real-time radiography (RTR) utilizing the OpenVision HD and OpenVision DX real-time x-ray systems.
The OpenVision training course is held at QSA Global, Inc.’s OpenVision Learning Centers in La Porte, TX and Pilsen, Czech Republic. The two-day course includes a combination of classroom instruction on the safe operation of OpenVision and hands-on practical sessions.
Companies that own an OpenVision system are encouraged to send it in with their students for a complimentary service and inspection by QSA Global, Inc.’s certified technicians. Systems will also be available to rent for the course duration if your OpenVision is not available at the time of the course.

What are the course prerequisites?
Completion of a 40-hour radiation safety course.

What does the course cover?
The course includes:
- Safe setup and deployment of the OpenVision system.
- Hands-on training for performing corrosion under insulation (CUI) inspections on a variety of insulated piping systems with known defects.
- Techniques for scanning insulated piping systems, analyzing images for CUI and corrosion precursors (e.g., scaling, pitting, external wall loss, and wet insulation).
- Weld location mapping and heat tracer inspection.

Who is this course for?
This is an entry-level course for trained NDT radiographers who need to learn how to perform real-time radiography (RTR) using the OpenVision real-time x-ray system safely and effectively.

Who provides the training?
A QSA Global, Inc. authorized OpenVision instructor and expert in industrial radiography, approved by QSA Global, Inc.'s Radiation Protection & General Safety Committee (RPGSC), provides the training for this course.

What will I be able to do after this course?
After completing the course, you will be proficient in using the OpenVision RTR x-ray system to safely and efficiently scan insulated piping systems. You will have the skills to accurately analyze images for indications of corrosion under insulation (CUI) and corrosion precursors, including scaling, pitting, external wall loss, and wet insulation. Additionally, you will be capable of performing weld mapping and locating heat traces. Your knowledge and skills will be validated through a written and practical exam.

What course materials & equipment is provided?
Companies that own a system are encouraged to send the unit in with their students for a complimentary service and inspection of the system by QSA’s certified technicians. Students will also use their OpenVision during the practical sessions to help them be proficient with their unique system, accessories, and the images they have collected.
The materials and equipment provided include:
- OpenVision DX portable x-ray system (rental fee applies)
- OpenVision HD portable x-ray system (rental fee applies)
- An extensive network of insulated piping comprising a broad range of CUI samples with known defects
- A course manual

How will I be tested?
There are two elements:
- written exam
- practical exam

What is the cancellation policy?
QSA Global, Inc. has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel your course with less than 24 hours’ notice, a 25% course fee will be applied.
